Career-enhancing opportunities are available in approximately 30 Congressional offices and 15 federal agencies for professionals of all career stages. Applicants must be US citizens and hold a terminal degree (PhD, MD, DVM, etc.) in any scientific discipline, or a master's degree in engineering with three years of post-degree experience. American Friends of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation promotes international scholarly exchange by publicizing the grants offered by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (AvH). The Humboldt Research Fellowship enables highly-qualified scientists and scholars of all nationalities and disciplines to carry out research projects for extended periods of time in cooperation with academic hosts at research institutions in Germany. Fellowships are awarded on the basis of academic achievement, the quality and feasibility of the proposed research and the applicant’s publications.

The Center welcomes postdocs, MBAs, lawyers and others seeking to learn new skills or change their careers. Our students are supervised by members of a multi-national network of professional service providers who volunteer for this purpose. There is no charge to students.

The Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation of Kansas City is a private, nonpartisan foundation that works with partners to advance entrepreneurship in America and improve the education of children and youth. The Kauffman Foundation was established in the mid-1960’s by the late entrepreneur and philanthropist Ewing Marion Kauffman.

The FAES Graduate School at NIH offers nearly 200 courses each year at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. FAES courses are certified by the Maryland Higher Education Committee and accepted for credit at most universities. The FAES Graduate School operates with the approval of the Maryland Higher Education Committee. Courses are open to members of the NIH community, other federal employees and the general public. The majority of FAES Graduate School courses are in the biomedical field. Other course selections include the physical and behavioral sciences, English and foreign language studies and technology transfer.

FASEB Career Resources is a department in the Federation of the American Societies of Experiment Biology (FASEB). Career Resources provides efficient and cost-effective methods for recruitment, placement and career development, serving the needs of both the biomedical professional and the employer.
