TCM’s Capital Formation Forum is a place in which venture capitalists and entrepreneurs can get together and exchange ideas, advice and hopefully create a business partnership. Maryland is a vibrant and entrepreneurial state in which investors and early-stage companies need a place to meet, network and learn from one another.

Chief Scientific Officer/Chief Medical Officer (CSO/CMO) Committee

The CSO/CMO Committee provides a forum where senior scientific, research, and medical professionals can come together to have in depth discussions about technical topics of relevance in the biotech and life science industry and to build professional networks.

Federal Government Contractor Committee

The most comprehensive TCM committee and resource to discuss federal government contracting trends of interest to TCM members. This may include contract opportunities, teaming arrangements, success stories and best practices for small to mid-sized government contractors or aspiring government contractors to serve their customers – the federal government, prime contractors and subcontractors. The Government Contractor Committee and features prominent guest speakers on issues of the day.

Financial Executives Forum

TCM’s Financial Executives Forum (FEF) is a forum in which the region’s leading financial executives from technology and biotechnology companies can meet, network and learn from each other. FEF programs include five educational breakfasts and two receptions that encourage participants to network as well as learn from some of the area’s preeminent policymakers and thinkers.

General Counsels Committee

TCM’s General Counsels Committee creates an environment in which technology and biotechnology general counsels can meet and learn from one another. The Committee hosts quarterly events that highlight topics of interest to general counsels and allows for the collaboration of ideas and business relationships.

Government Relations Committee

TCM’s Government Relations Committee advises and directs association advocacy efforts with legislators and policymakers on issues of importance to the technology and biotechnology industries. The Government Relations Committee meets periodically to educate TCM members on what policymakers are doing to impact the tech and biotech communities, shape the government relations strategy, take positions on important legislation and develop policy priorities.

Healthcare IT Committee

Serves as the leading resource to discuss new technologies in the healthcare industry, identify issues affecting technology in healthcare and exchange ideas on trends and techniques. This may include electronic patient records, research and development, remote medicine and electronic data capture that impact the way TCM members sell and serve their customers. The Healthcare IT Committee features expert speakers who will fully explore healthcare IT issues. This includes business panel discussions on technical, regulatory and business issues.

Human Resources Committee

The Human Resources Committee provides a forum that promotes leadership, innovation, collaboration and information sharing among technology professionals who are interested in the development of human resources needs, programs, and services to support the technology industry.

This committee assists its members with how human resource issues effect their businesses and lead discussions on HR issues such as employee recruiting and retention, benefits programs, employee accountability and other long-term workforce issues.

MdBio Program Committee

The MdBio Program Committee plans, organizes and facilitates educational seminars that provide a forum for members of the biotech and life science business community to learn and to network with their peers.

Small Business/Entrepreneur Committee

Serves as the best resource to discuss issues affecting small businesses and entrepreneurs. This may include best business practices (marketing, public relations, getting your business started, etc.), regulations and exit strategies. The Small Business/Entrepreneur Committee features prominent guest speakers on issues that impact the business person who is just starting out or doesn’t have the staff to get it all done. This includes business panel discussions on regulatory, finance and business issues.

Telecommunications Committee

This Committee is a resource to discuss new telecommunications, technology and business communications trends of interest to TCM members. This may include wireless, WiMax, VoIP and satellite communications that impact the way TCM members communicate, sell, and serve their customers. The Telecommunications Committee meets six times annually and features prominent guest speakers on issues of the day. This includes business panel discussions on technical, regulatory and business issues.

Women’s IT Committee

The Women’s IT Committee encourages women to participate and share their ideas and experiences in all areas of the technology industries. The Women’s IT Committee allows women to discuss interests and activities that will stimulate the growth of women in technology. This TCM members-only committee serves as a resource for women in the IT field, whether they are in executive, sales, or technical positions.

Workforce Development/STEM Committee

Serves as a proactive committee to sustain and grow a knowledge-based economy and to identify the next generation of skilled workers through by developing science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) skills. Nearly every national, regional and local study shows that the United States is not producing enough qualified, skilled workers to meet industry’s demand. Without these skilled-workers our economy faces uncertainty. The Workforce Development/STEM Committee will serve as the Mid-Atlantic’s clearinghouse for workforce shortage issues, solutions and activities.
